How It Works

Together, we’ll identify your unique challenges and build a coaching plan around your biggest and boldest goals.

From there, we’ll apply my skills in breathwork, voice, and storytelling to help you reach new heights — not only in your career but your personal and professional confidence.

There are 3 ways we can work together.

Build and Transform

Ideal for: Early career broadcasters

Duration: 3 Weeks

We start with breathwork to identify and use your natural range of pitch.  Your confidence will start to grow as you speak with more authority.  And then you’ll learn the writing strategies that every broadcaster needs to know.  You’ll also learn what not to write!  Four hours spread over three weeks:  Exercises, strategies, practical tips for stand-ups and live shots. We’ll watch your stories together to see the improvement and identify the sticky spots.

Own the Room

Ideal for: Established speakers who want to reach new heights in their career

Duration: 3 Months

We’ll expand your presentation strengths and master the nuances that will set you apart from others. Meeting two hours each month, we’ll look at how you can better command words and the room. Discover how posture, body language and movement create a perception that matters — live or on Zoom. Learn new ideas for structuring a speech. Master the art of running a meeting. Practice delivering information that will engage the audience.  Understand how best to field questions or pushback.

Work with me on an hourly basis to perfect what we’ve already learned or address new challenges — like moving from reporter to anchor. Or elevating your communication style in the C-suite. With advancement comes expectations.  I’ll help you manage them.

The Newcomer Scholarship

I know your salary just starting out doesn’t leave a lot of room for extras.  But I would never want that to stop you from becoming your best on-air self.  We can make this investment in you financially doable.

“Nothing elevates a small-market newscast more than a talent pool with strong voices and professional deliveries. Susan has helped transform our newsroom into the standout market leader.”

Explore A Sample 3-Month Program

My coaching programs are created around your individual needs and objectives but to give you a sense of what my process looks like, here’s a breakdown of how I typically adapt my process to broadcasters.

Month One: Voice

Typically 2 one-hour sessions.

The focus of our first two sessions is usually strengthening your voice and sound. We’ll also work on overcoming your speaking and presentation fears to help you use your voice more effectively.  (It’s easier with a coach and a safe space. I promise.)

Month Two: Story

Typically 2 one-hour sessions.

Whether you’re answering questions in a meeting or moving to the desk as an anchor, we can spend Month Two focused on story and message. During this phase, we’ll develop your writing skills and help you deliver your work in a way that engages your audience.

Month Three: The Last Mile

A final one-hour session.

Because every professional I work with is unique, we’ll set the objectives for your final session together — once you’ve determined the last big step you’d like to tackle. After tying up any loose ends, you’ll move forward feeling ready to pursue a bigger, braver next chapter.

Uncover your most effective professional self in just a few custom tailored sessions.

Group Work

Do you have employees who could benefit from a 90-minute Zoom lesson? I’ll develop a session to address their needs, include time to answer pressing questions, and send everyone a summary of what they learned.
